BARBARA HUGHES is an artist, teacher and retreat leader whose work is centered in the connections between art, spirituality and healing. At RAHAMIM RETREAT AND CLAYHOUSE, she offers classes, workshops, and RETREATS for individuals and small groups. Many of her retreats are now designed for SURVIVORS OF CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE AND TRAUMA.

Rahamim is the Hebrew word for “womb.” Rahamim Retreat and ClayHouse strives to be A PLACE OF NURTURE, COMFORT, AND HEALING. It is an art studio and retreat space located in the beautiful mountains of the Cumberland Plateau in middle Tennessee between Nashville and Chattanooga. Barbara Hughes leads art retreats, many of which are for survivors of childhood sexual abuse or other childhood trauma or pain. These retreats have CAREFUL BOUNDARIES, and provide a safe place to take the next step in healing. Simple ART MEDITATIONS USING A VARIETY OF ART MEDIA require no artistic skill. There is time for sharing and time for quiet.
